Jacqui Ley

Dr Jacqui Ley is a Registered Veterinarian Specialist in Behavioural Medicine with over 15 years of experience in this field. This means she is qualified to a specialist level in dog behaviour, cat behaviour or just about any other animal’s behaviour.  Dr Jacqui Ley has a fellowship to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Behavioural Medicine and PhD in Psychology from Monash University. She also holds European qualifications for her field (DipECAWBM) and is the current chairperson for the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine exams committee.  She is a tutor for the CVE Behaviour Medicine Course and a Fear Free Certified Professional.  She also has research interests and works with a diverse range of groups developing animal models for mental health disorders.  As well as seeing cases at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre, she works with zoos and other groups involved in animal welfare. She is also called upon by the legal profession as an expert witness in cases involving “dangerous dogs”.  Dr Jacqui has published several scientific papers, and has contributed chapters to 5 text books on veterinary behaviour and practice management.
