Metal crowns are not yet common occurrence in veterinary dentistry. Nevertheless, they do have a place and can be very advantageous in specific situations. This lecture will demonstrate the process of preparing a clinical crown, of obtaining a vinyl polysiloxane impression and of cementing a metal crown. It will also discuss when and why crowns should be considered as part of dental treatment for some patients. It will also show their benefits and limitations.
