The aim of this presentation is to introduce and update practitioners on the current state of restorative materials. To understand their function, form and specific uses and evaluate their application in practice situations. Practitioners should leave the presentation with a clear understand of what a restorative is, when it would be applied and how it needs to be cared for through the life of the patient.

• How where and why composites and restoratives are used
• A summary of available composites and restoratives and how they vary in technology and function
• The art of application to achieve long term desirable outcomes
• Long term management of the restorative patient
