Separation-related problem is a common condition in many pets. While it is more commonly associated with dogs, cats too can suffer from this condition. Separation anxiety is also closely linked with other behavioural pathologies such as noise aversion and phobias. This lecture will cover the most common reasons for the development of these conditions in pets, different presentations, and management techniques. We will focus on both short term and long term management. As part of the treatment, we will also cover the use of environmental changes and medications.
