This presentation describes how different metabolic, hormonal, neurological, and infectious diseases can alter the pet’s behaviour. Also, we discuss the effects of pain on behaviour. Then we will review how behaviour may affect the development and maintenance of different physical pathologies. This presentation aims to allow the clinician to make an accurate diagnosis, address pets where an initial problem leads to a secondary behavioural abnormality, and manage cases where both (behavioural and physical) pathologies occur at the same time.
