Abnormal and repetitive behaviours are compulsive pathologies the pet may present. We group these behaviours into three broad categories: locomotion, hallucinations, and self-directed. These behaviours reduce the life quality of the pet, lead to physical diseases such as injuries, weight loss, and infections. We will cover the reasons for the development of these conditions and their different manifestation. As part of this lecture, we will also address the diagnostic process, management, and medications used to help these pets.
